Not every day do you meet a sales executive who has tried more than 15 sports and played at a semi-professional level in Sweden's third-best league. Meet Leonard Broström, an incredible sales executive who recently joined us here at Gigapay.
The fact is, If you own a business, you probably know how important someone like Leonard is to your cause and how they can help you grow and scale your business. That's why we decided to take a peek - to know a little more about him, and he was willing to indulge us.
We hope you enjoy this interaction :)
1. Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I was born and raised on the island of Gotland and most recently came from my studies at Uppsala University. There I studied digital business development, which developed my knowledge of business administration and systems science.
In terms of previous work, I have had everything from purely administrative positions, such as contract management, to working at some of Sweden's most famous summer restaurants.
During my childhood, I probably tried more than 15 sports, but mainly two sports that really stuck with me, Soccer and ice hockey. I have played at a semi-professional level in Sweden's third-best league in hockey.
A herniated disc later, and now it's been over 1.5 years since I laced up a pair of skates, but who knows, maybe there will be a comeback this winter ;)
2. How did you get to this position?
During the spring, I talked to a friend who told me about his experiences working at a start-up/scale-up that piqued my interest.
Later I read an article on Breakit about Gigapay, which made me start following them on LinkedIn. A few days later, a message landed in my inbox, and it was Andrea. A few interviews and some meetings later, I signed a contract!
3. What do you often like to do for fun?
Right now, golf is my big hobby. I started playing this spring, and if I have time to spare, I like to spend it with friends on the golf course. My other big hobby is trying new restaurants, and it's really a hobby that I share and love to do together with my girlfriend!
4. What's your typical day like in sales?
From what I can tell, I haven't had a typical day yet. I have been working here for almost three weeks and feel that every day has contained different challenges and tasks.
5. Do you consider yourself a dog or cat person?
A dog person, of course. Someday you will see me with a wiener dog named Göte! :)
6. How's your experience so far working with the team at Gigapay?
Better than I could have imagined. Gigapay gives me room to be creative and work closely with everyone at the company, which I really appreciate. In addition, all the colleagues are super smart and nice, which has made my onboarding smooth.
