26th February 2020, Stockholm, Sweden.
Gigapay, a Fintech startup solving tax and employment challenges for platforms in the Gig economy, is excited to announce the release of version 2.0, as they make changes to their leadership.
Gigapay’s new leadership and product update will allow them to gain market share, as they continue to grow in Sweden while continuing to explore other European markets for expansion.
Raiha Buchanan, formally Gigapay’s COO, will take on the role of CEO. Raiha has previously held senior roles at high-growth Fintechs iZettle, Bambora and Instantor. Gustav Malmqvist will move to the role of CTO. Gustav has over 10 years of technical experience building and scaling startups. This experience will be integral as he leads the changes needed for further expansion. This is a strategic decision made by Gigapay, as they focus on expanding their geographical reach whilst expanding their product offering.
- “The Gig Economy is growing and is set to be worth over 455 billion dollars by 2023. We see ourselves as the missing puzzle piece in this fundamental global shift in sentiment towards the new job market, especially as scaling Platforms look for a responsible way to engage Gig workers”, says Raiha Buchanan, CEO at Gigapay.
Version 2.0 of Gigapay includes a dashboard to manage Giggers directly, improved ability to payout multiple salaries instantly and a new onboarding experience which allows Giggers without a BankID to sign in to Gigapay.
- “Many of our clients would spend hours each month managing their Giggers payouts through multiple spreadsheets. Now this work can be done in minutes”, says Gustav Malmqvist, CTO at Gigapay.
- “We’re proud to now support non-BankID verification, as we see many of our clients hiring international talent without access to BankID. This supports our vision to make it easier for platforms to responsibly engage more workers for short-term contracts”, continues Gustav.
Gigapay remains self-funded, as they continue to focus on driving sales and developing their product. They look to expand to their second market and raise a seed investment in Q2 2020.
